Families

Kidz Dream offers families opportunity to engage your children in an educational and care program within a home base setting.

Our scheme offers families flexible care during standard hours before and after school care and during school holidays.

As a scheme we operate under the same National Quality Framework and other forms of child care incorporating National Regulations, National Quality Standards educational framework and an assessment and rating process.

PRIORITY OF ACCESS

Usually there will be a waiting list for Family Day Care services and to ensure the system is fair.

The Australian Government has ‘Priority of Access Guidelines for Child Care Services” meeting the childcare needs of families with recognized work or work related commitments. The demand for childcare exceeds the available Child Care Benefit places, the ‘Family Assistance’s legislation requires that childcare services allocate places to families with the greatest need for childcare.

 Priority of Access Guidelines:

1st Priority – a child at risk of serious abuse or neglect
2nd Priority – a child of a single parent who satisfies, or of parents who both satisfy the work/training/study test under section 14 of the Family Assistance Act.
Third priority – any other child, e.g. parent not working or studying.

Within these main Priority categories, priority will also be given to children in:

  • Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander families
  • Families with disabled child
  • Families from non-English speaking background
  • Socially isolated families
  • Single parent families
